Beginner horror movies?

I love reading Stephen King, and I've been trying to see more "scary" movies, but the only 'scary' movies I've watched without jumping out of my seat and running away are Sweeney Todd and Zombieland. See? I need some more gentle ones so I can work my way up to not be so freaked by them...
