No resolutions in-game fit my screen. What do i do?

So i got my hands on both Red Faction: Armageddon, and Duke Nukem Forever. However, when i try to set the in-game resolution to my native screen resolution (1152x864) i get these black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Really annoying, since i have tried all the available resolutions. The resolution my monitor was made for (1600x1200) is not available in either game. What should i do?
